Local children blessed with school supplies before the start of school
Living Proof Church completed the seventh year of its backpack outreach program on July 31; gathering the necessary school supplies and backpacks to provide 151 area students a successful new school year.
Thanks to many generous donations and helping hands from the church family and the Groesbeck community the annual upward trend of support continues. Backpacks stuffed with necessary school supplies by Living Proof Church were delivered to Groesbeck ISD on Aug. 3 giving them enough time to sit in a classroom for sanitizing and disinfected purposes due to COVID-19 guidelines before the start of school on Aug. 12.
With the Groesbeck ISD delivery, an additional nine homeschooled children also received backpacks full of supplies.
“It is our ongoing pleasure to serve the people and the families Groesbeck and Limestone County,” state Living Proof pastor John Carabin. “With COVID-19 its been a busy time for the church outreach program but also a time that has developed additional dedicated servants within the congregation.”
On Aug. 4 the church also collected and sorted an assortment of outreach supplies for upcoming service gifts to teachers, nurses, police, homecoming, etc.
Living Proof Church thanked Groesbeck Fire Rescue, Vincent Personal Care, Limestone County Adult Probation, Black Cactus Armory Rural Compassion, and Groesbeck ISD for the help in making the annual school supply drive and delivery a huge success.
