Lions Club 22nd Annual Car Show huge success
The 22nd annual Groesbeck Car Show proved to be huge with a record-breaking 85 or more entries.
The Car Show was held this past Saturday in the Groesbeck City Park. The funds raised at the Car Show enable the Groesbeck Lions Club to perform many worthy deeds on the local level as well as contributing to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Texas and participating in the Lions Clubs International projects.
Additionally, the Groesbeck Lions Club awards three $1,000 scholarships to three deserving Groesbeck High School seniors each year.
Entries in the Car Show came from all parts of the state of Texas as well as the local area. Many of the first-timers stated, “We will be back.”
Brett Beene was the general chairman of the Car Show. Beene has chaired the car show for many years and has always done a great job.
Sharon Fredriksson, Lions Club president, thanked the members of the Lions Club for their work at the Car Show. She noted that a very large number of the Club’s members helped with the show.
Many thanks to Bob Bosch and the members of the “Knot Today” band. The music of the band was greatly appreciated by all present.
The Groesbeck Masonic Lodge sold lunches to the participants and workers at the Car Show. The Lodge will use these funds to present scholarships to local students.
