Homecoming to honor the GHS Class of 1970
The members of the Groesbeck High School Class of 1970 will receive their 50 year diplomas during the Homecoming activities which will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 25-26.
The Class of 1970 members will be recognized Friday night at the homecoming football game. The Class of 1970 will have a float in the homecoming parade on Saturday morning, September 26.
Following the parade, on Saturday the Class of 1970 will meet at the Maffett Memorial Library around 2:00 p.m. for fellowship and will be presented their 50-year diplomas.
The GHS Class of 1970 consisted of fifty-seven members. Senior class officers were: President, Steve Stone; Vice-President, James Brown; Reporter, Elana Campbell; Treasurer, Deborah Beck.
The 1970 Room Mothers were Mrs. Nolen White, Mrs. Jessie Bennett, Mrs. Jack Russell, and Mrs. Arnold Young.
Mr. Vernon Turner was Superintendent, and Mr. Harold Lowe was Principal in 1970.
Jerome Sims was Valedictorian, and Steve Sadler was Salutatorian.
The members of the GHS Class of 1970 were involved in many activities while attending Groesbeck High School. Members were involved in different sports, Student Council, band, UIL, library activities, National Honor Society, working on the yearbook and school newspaper staffs.
