The Kosse Heritage Society (KHS) has been busy and productive of late, making quick work of the project to reroof the Hearn-Gidden House on Hwy. 7 last weekend, and adding finishing touches to open the Heritage House as a bed and bath.
On Tuesday, September 28 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., the City of Kosse will be hosting an Open House for Kosse’s new city offices and courtroom. Everyone is invited to visit and tour the facilities while enjoying refreshments and treats by Duck Mud Coffee. The new City Hall and Courtroom are located at 100 N. Narcissus across the street from the old offices and next door to Farmers State Bank.
Kosse Heritage House will be hosting a pie & coffee open house on Sat. Sept.11 from 6 to 8 p.m. Kosse Heritage House Bed & Bath open house will be held at 300 South Mignonette.
The center was buzzing Thursday, sounded like a bunch of bees, Everyone was talking, laughing and having a great time. We had Home Health ladies come and take our blood pressures and they brought some very nice and thoughtful prizes for our bingo players. Thank you Kim Sheppard and Sindra McLean. Those present being, Ann Brown, Roger and Linda Watson, Lorene Stembridge, Alma McCurry, Snuffy Bennett, Fonetta Simmons, Wayne Sharp, Earl Mask, Elle and Hank Staniszewski and their 4 yr. old grandson, Noah Scott, Wilma Lee, Neennah German, Janice Bilbrey, site mgr., Donna Lloyd visiting back with us from Huntsville, and myself. Donna moved there recently and is greatly missed at our center and the LMC Volunteers as well. She also came to attend funeral of Rita Turgeon before our lunch as well as several others of we Seniors attended. Sympathy to the Turgeon family.
