Chad Walker of Groesbeck passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest in Waco surrounded by his family.
State Trooper Chad Walker no longer displays signs of viable brain activity and remains on life-support after being shot in the head and abdomen Friday night on U.S. 84 in Mexia.
DPS released the following Monday afternoon.
Rylee Walker’s pen of rabbits sold for $7,000 to conclude the 2021 Limestone County Fair Association Sale. A donated hog brought a total of $8,000 for the family. There was over $58,000 given in add-ons for the Walker family. Add-ons will still be accepted for the next several weeks. The 2021 Sale brought over $360,000, not including add-ons.
Hours later, DPS Spokesman Ryan Howard said Pinson Jr. was found dead from what appeared to be a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.
"Earlier this evening, a 36-year-old man was found deceased with what is suspected to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a residence on Highway 84, west of Mexia, Texas. The deceased was the suspect in a shooting that injured Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Trooper Chad Walker on Friday evening."
