Earlene Asberry Moore named Groesbeck Ex-Students Homecoming Queen

The 2022 Groesbeck Ex-Students Queen was announced on homecoming night, Friday, Oct. 7.

Mrs. Earlene Asberry Moore was surprised at the pregame ceremony as the chosen Groesbeck Ex-Students Homecoming Queen. Earlene is a 1972 graduate of the Groesbeck.

She is married to Roy Moore Sr. and is the proud mother to Bosque Moore of Dallas, and Roy Moore Jr. of Houston. She is the proud grandmother to four of her greatest blessings. She is the daughter of the late Willy and Ivory Asberry.

Earlene is a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Thornton under the Leadership of Pastor Tristan Hobbs and Terry Spivey.

During school, Earlene took great pride in marching for the Blackshear-Washington Band and lived to do the best she could. She was very instrumental in starting the Blackshear Washington Pancake Breakfast for many years.

Earlene has been a very well-respected lady and loved by anyone that knew her due to the many positions she has held in our community. She worked for the Limestone County Sherrif Dept from 1984- 2006. At that time, she worked for Sheriff Dennis Walker and Dennis Wilson during her Position as Jail Capt and Jail Administrator. She also held a position with the City of Groesbeck from 1981- 1985 working under Chuck Walker.

If you ask Earlene what her favorite times are she will always tell you her priorities are her grandbabies, her family, and all the many trips she takes with her sisters. You may see her riding in her shiny Cadillac or working hard every day to keep her flowers beautiful at her house.  Congratulations Earlene Moore.
