July 4th in Groesbeck
Summer is officially here and Independence Day is right around the corner.
July 4th in Groesbeck will start with a free community pancake breakfast at the First Methodist Church Groesbeck Activity Building at 215 W. Navasota. Donations will be accepted, but are not required.
The Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce has planned some fun for Groesbeck to help celebrate the holiday this year with a parade in downtown, followed by festivities at Hawkins Park and ending the holiday with fireworks at the City Park/Sports Complex.
A downtown July 4th parade at will kick off 10:30 a.m. with the singing of the National Anthem by Groesbeck’s own Pawparazi Grooming business owner, Rosalina Macias at the Parkette.
The parade will follow the normal parade route.
Lineup will be at 10:00 a.m on Trinity Street. To be added to the parade list or for more information on lineup procedures please contact Lisa Stewart at 254-292-3155. Note: Please remember throwing candy is prohibited during the parade, you may have designated people to walk along the parade and hand out candy only.
After the parade, travel around the block to Hawkins Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where Michelle Latray, representing the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, will be reading the Declaration of Independence to kick off an afternoon of fun.
At 11:30 a.m. there will be a Patriotic Children’s Bike Contest. Bring your child and their decorated bike to enter. Following the bike parade, will be a Patriotic Pet Parade, so bring those fur babies dressed in their best patriotic gear.
There will be vendors, music, bounce houses, obstacle courses, pet adoptions from Groesbeck Animal Control and more.
At dusk, a Fireworks show by Groesbeck’s own, Jay’s Fireworks, will be on display at the Groesbeck City Park/Sports Complex sponsored by the City of Groesbeck and Chamber of Commerce.
