Off-duty reserve Police Officer involved in shooting, one female injured

Any inquiries should be directed to the Texas Rangers as the investigation is ongoing.

The Groesbeck Police Department responded to a shooting early Sunday morning.  The incident happened at 1:30 a.m. in the 500 blocks of Allison Avenue in Groesbeck on Sunday, July 21.

Police reports indicate a disturbance occurred between a small group of people where shots were fired and one person was struck.  The injured person was transported by ambulance to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Hillcrest in Waco where she is listed in ICU as stable. 

The alleged shooter is an off-duty reserve Groesbeck Police Officer. 

Due to the nature of the incident and an officer being involved, Groesbeck Police Chief, Chris Henson requested that the Texas Rangers take over the investigation. 

Chief Henson says any inquiries should be directed to them as the investigation is currently ongoing.
