Community Conversations on Health to be host at next week’s Chamber Lunch and Learn
The Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce is hosting its monthly Lunch and Learn on March 9.
The event will feature Texas Department of State Health Services representatives Sherril Rawlinson and Myriam Virella presenting the Community Conversations on Health initiative.
Texas DSHS is working on a health disparities grant, Community Conversations on Health, as a partnership between Texas A&M and DSHS to gather community input to help connect, bring or build programs that can improve health and wellness in the county.
The initiative aims to improve access to vaccines and testing and increase training and education for the public health workforce through partnerships with local health departments.
Community Conversations on Health began in Limestone County after being identified as one of 24 Texas counties with health disparities.
The Chamber hosts a Lunch and Learn at noon every second Thursday of the month at the Groesbeck Convention Center.
